ANOTHER is an adjective used solely with singular nouns and we can't use the article THE in front of it, since it already has an article, "AN".

OTHER, on the other hand, is an adjective used for plural nouns and accepts the article THE in front of it.

OTHER, por outro lado, é um adjetivo usado para substantivos no plural e aceita o artigo THE na frente dele.

OTHERS, to differ from OTHER, is not an adjective, but a noun in the plural, so you don't have to add a noun after it, for example, in the last sentence, number 3, you could put only OTHERS instead of OTHER GIRLS.
