I was reading some articles and found something interesting to put here on the blog. As some of you may know, besides being a private teacher, translator, interpreter, proofreader, I also carry out oral evaluations to test a person's English skills so that he/she can work at a company. I always interview very interesting people for very interesting companies, and you end up paying attention to some other things related to a job interview. On this website, there are 25 things to avoid in a job interview, so I picked the 10 most important ones to help you in case you have to go through this process. Eu estava lendo alguns artigos e encontrei algo interessante para colocar aqui no blog. Como alguns de vocês devem saber, além de ser professora particular, tradutora, intérprete, revisora, também realizo avaliações orais para testar as habilidades de inglês de uma pessoa para que ela possa trabalhar em uma empresa. Eu sempre entrevisto pessoas muito interessantes para empresas muitos interessantes, e a gente acaba prestando atenção em algumas outras coisas relacionadas com uma entrevista de trabalho. 1. Poor personal appearance

Usually the best bet is wear a business suit, but this is not a rule, according to the company you are applying to you can choose other type of clothing, anyway, if you do not use a suit you can use elegant sport clothing. Take special care of your personal appearance; remember the first impression is important.
Geralmente a melhor aposta é usar um terno social, mas essa não é uma regra, de acordo com a empresa que você estiver se candidatando, você pode escolher o tipo de roupa, de qualquer forma, se você não usar um terno, você pode usar uma roupa casual elegante. Tome cuidado especial com sua aparência pessoal, lembre-se de que a primeira impressão é importante.

2. Say too much or say too few

During a job interview, try to answer with the necessary words, go to the point and do not divagate through other subjects, also avoid using yes/no answers, listen carefully to the interviewer and if you have doubts about the question then ask, remember everything you say will be taken into account to give you the job or not.

Durante a entrevista de trabalho, procure responder com as palavras necessárias, vá direto ao ponto e não fique divagando entre outros assuntos, também evite usar respostas sim/não apenas, escute o entrevistador atentamente e se tiver dúvidas sobre a pergunta, questione, lembre-se que tudo o que você disser será levado em conta para dar o trabalho a você ou não.

If you do not take a while to analyze your skills, strengths, the company, what you want, what you expect, and so on, you may find yourself on an uncomfortable situation during your interview.

Se você não parar um pouco para analisar suas habilidades, seus pontos fortes, a empresa, o que você quer, o que você espera, e assim por diante, você pode ficar em uma situação desconfortável durante sua entrevista.

Take precautions to avoid being late, choose your clothing the night before, if you can, go to the location where the interview is going to be performed, that way you will know for sure the address, if some unexpected thing happens like an emergency, call ahead.

Tome as precauções para não se atrasar, escolha sua roupa na noite anterior, se puder, vá até o local em que a entrevista será realizada, dessa forma você saberá com certeza o endereço, caso algo inesperado aconteça como uma emergência, ligue com antecedência.

Never criticize your last employer(s), the interviewer probably will call them to be sure about your references, so avoid doing that, even if the interviewer seems to be a really comprehensive person.

Nunca critique seu(s) empregador(es) antigo(s), provavelmente o entrevistador ligará para eles para ter certeza sobre as suas referências, portanto evite fazer isso, mesmo se o entrevistador parecer ser uma pessoa realmente compreensiva.

Be respectful and honest with your interviewer(s), it won't be hard for them to realize if you are lying or not, and in case you get hired, it will probably be the reason for you being fired.

Tenha respeito e honestidade com seu(s) entrevistador(es), não será difícil para eles perceberem se você está mentindo ou não, e caso você seja contratado, provavelmente pode ser a razão para você ser demitido.

During an interview, make sure you make eye contact with each interviewer, you are talking to human(s), so look politely to their eyes while you answer.

Durante uma entrevista, tenha certeza de fazer contato visual com cada entrevistador, você está falando com humano(s), então olhe educadamente para seus olhos enquanto responde.

8. Talk too much

Interviews are a two way conversation so be careful to not talk too much, listen carefully, think what you are going to say and answer the questions properly covering all the subjects it involves.

As entrevistas são uma conversa de duas vias, portanto tome cuidado para não falar demais, escute atentamente, pense no que você vai dizer e responda as perguntas de forma adequada cobrindo todos os assuntos que envolva.

9. Use too much technical words or jargon

9. Usar palavras técnicas demais ou jargões

During an interview, if you and the interviewer can understand technical language then use it, nevertheless, probably it will be the first time you talk to him/her, so the best is use simple words avoiding jargon.

Durante uma entrevista, se você e o entrevistador entendem a linguagem técnica, use-a, apesar disso, provavelmente será a primeira vez que você fala com ele, então o melhor é usar palavras simples e evitar jargões.
