Eu tenho estado doente, talvez trabalho demais, só sei que acabei no hospital ontem e não tive a chance de escrever para vocês... =( Estou com uma faringite horrível, mas me sentindo muito melhor hoje!!! =) Então aqui estou de volta e com algo interessante para vocês sobre MIAMI!!!
Last month I went to Miami, FL, and I'd like to share with you some information about its malls!!! People think the main place to go shopping in the US is NYC, yes it is too, but it's different... why??? In NYC the thing is that you go to the shops and department stores on foot, by taxi or by subway. In Miami you HAVE to rent a car, because the city is very wide and big and the malls are located miles apart one of the other.
Mês passado fui para Miami, Flórida, e gostaria de dividir com vocês algumas informações sobre os shoppings de lá!!! As pessoas acham que o principal lugar para fazer compras nos EUA é Nova York,sim, é também, mas é diferente... por quê??? Em Nova York o negócio é que você vai para as lojas e lojas de departamento a pé, de táxi ou de metrô. Em Miami você TEM que alugar um carro, porque a cidade é muito ampla e grande e os shoppings ficam localizados a quilômetros de distância uns dos outros.
I even advise that if you don't want to rent a car, go to NYC, Boston, Chicago, because they have their accessible shopping areas and you can do everything without a car. But in Miami you miss a lot if you don't drive... and don't be scared! Driving in the US is so easy, especially when you have a GPS hehehe... I'll write about it next week!!!
Eu até mesmo aconselho que se você não quer alugar um carro, vá para Nova York, Boston, Chicago, porque elas têm suas áreas de compras acessíveis e você pode fazer tudo sem carro. Mas em Miami você perde muito se não dirigir... e não se assuste! Dirigir nos EUA é muito fácil, especialmente quando você tem um GPS hehehe... vou escrever sobre isso semana que vem!!!

Então vamos ver os melhores lugares para comprar em Miami???
1- Sawgrass Mills
This is the largest mall around Miami, it's actually located in Sunrise, and they have the best prices because it's an outlet mall, that is, all the discount stores are there. It takes around 40 minutes to get there by car, but there's also a bus that takes you there for U$ 20. Some stores you can find there include Calvin Klein, DKNY, Forever 21, Michael Kors, Burberry, Prada, Juicy Couture, Nike, Tommy, Armani Exchange Sunglass Hut, and True Religion to name a few.
Este é o maior shopping próximo de Miami, fica na verdade em Sunrise, e eles têm os melhores preços porque é um outlet, ou seja, todas as lojas de descontos estão lá. Leva cerca de 40 minutos para chegar lá de carro, mas também tem um ônibus que leva você até lá por U$ 20. Algumas lojas que você pode encontrar lá incluem Calvin Klein, DKNY, Forever 21, Michael Kors, Burberry, Prada, Juicy Couture, Nike, Tommy, Armani Exchange Sunglass Hut, e True Religion entre outras.
2- Dolphin Mall
Dolphin is a little smaller version of Sawgrass, discounts and good deals!!! It's closer than the first one, but it has less stores... but wait, it's still HUGE!!! In fact, I bought a shirt at CK at Sawgrass and ended up exchanging that at Dolphin because they are both of discount stores... different from going to a regular mall, they would not exchange that item for me. You can find here pretty much the same stores I mentioned above as Forever 21, DKNY, Tommy, Calvin Klein, Armani Exchange, Michael Kors, Sunglass Hut, and True Religion. They also have here a very interesting store for those who love outdoors sports like fishing, it's called Bass Pro!!!
O Dolphin é uma versão um pouquinho menor do Sawgrass, descontos e ótimos preços!!! É mais perto do que o primeiro, mas tem menos lojas... mas espere, ainda é ENORME!!! Aliás, comprei uma camisa na CK no Sawgrass e acabei trocando no Dolphin porque são ambos de lojas de descontos... diferente de ir a um shopping normal, eles não trocariam esse item para mim. Você pode encontrar aqui basicamente as mesmas lojas que mencionei acima como Forever 21, DKNY, Tommy, Calvin Klein, Armani Exchange, Michael Kors, Sunglass Hut e True Religion. Eles também têm aqui uma loja muito interessante para os que amam os esportes ao ar livre como a pesca, chamada Bass Pro!!!
3- Dadeland Mall
Moving on to a regular mall, this is the mall I went more times this trip. It's all about the location and also the restaurants you can find there! They have nice stores, most of them that you can't find in an outlet mall, such as Macy's, Zara, MAC, Hollister, Abercrombie, Nordstrom, Victoria's Secrets, Sephora, Louis Vuitton, and so on. Even these are not considered discount stores, everything there is cheaper than in Brazil, that I can assure you!!! So it's worth taking a look!!!
Passando para um shopping normal, este é o shopping que mais fui nessa viagem. Tudo se trata da localização e também dos restaurantes que você pode encontrar lá! Eles têm lojas boas, a maioria que você não encontra em um outlet, como Macy's, Zara, MAC, Hollister, Abercrombie, Nordstrom, Victoria's Secrets, Sephora, Louis Vuitton e assim por diante. Mesmo que não sejam consideradas lojas de descontos, tudo lá á mais barato que no Brasil, isso eu posso garantir!!! Então vale a pena dar uma olhada!!!
4- Aventura Mall
Another regular mall is Aventura, located in the North region of Miami, a huge one, with nice an exclusive stores too and with more options for nice restaurants than the previous one. Besides those stores mentioned above, they have some others such as 7 for All Mankind, BCBG, Hugo Boss, Fendi, Joe's, Mont Blanc, All Saints and so on! However, they don't have Zara, what a pity!!!
Outro shopping normal é o Aventura, localizado na região norte de Miami, um enorme, com lojas boas e exclusivas também e com mais opções de restaurantes que o anterior. Além das lojas mencionadas acima, eles têm algumas outras como 7 for All Mankind, BCBG, Hugo Boss, Fendi, Joe's, Mont Blanc, All Saints e assim por diante! No entanto, eles não têm Zara, que pena!!!
5- Bal Harbour Shops
Are you looking for luxury??? So here is the place you have to go. Also in the North of Miami you find the most exclusive stores, just the best designers such as Chanel, Miu Miu, Tory Burch, Hermès, Versace, Balenciaga, Prada, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, those kinds of brands, you know what I mean?!
Você está buscando luxo??? Então aqui é o lugar que você tem que ir. Também no norte de Miami, você encontra as lojas mais exclusivas, apenas as melhores grifes como Chanel, Miu Miu, Tory Burch, Hermès, Versace, Balenciaga, Prada, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, esses tipos de marcas, sabe o que eu quero dizer?!
Well, with this list you have plenty of options, from the cheapest to the most expensive malls in Miami! So take a look now at these useful tips I have for you:
Bem, com essa lista você muitas opções, dos shoppings mais baratos aos mais caros em Miami! Então dê uma olhada nestas dicas úteis que tenho para você:
1- Before traveling, go on the website of each mall you want to go and print the MAP and check the stores they have there that you really want to go, find them in the map and then you know where to go and you don't waste much time walking around like a lost kid in a candy shop... ;-)
1- Antes de viajar, entre no site de cada shopping que você quer ir e imprima o MAPA e veja as lojas que eles possuem lá que você realmente quer ir, encontre-as no mapa e assim você fica sabendo onde ir e você não perde muito tempo andando em círculos como uma criança perdida em uma loja de doces... ;-)
2- If your time is almost up and you have to go back to the hotel because your group or bus or friend is leaving, there's something you can do: buy the things you really loved even without trying them on and see in the hotel how they look because if you end up not liking it, you can go back to the store and get your money back by returning that thing you bought. Yes! They give you the money back, so it also works when you think you might not find that item anymore, you can buy it and if you find another one that you like best, you can return the first one, as long as you keep the receipt, don't forget that!!! Another example that happened to me is that I was in Chicago once and it was like - 25ºC, and I was wearing so many clothes that I didn't want to try everything on every time I was going into a store, so I bought everything I wanted, tried them on at the hotel and those I didn't like I returned the next day!!! ;-)
2- Se o seu tempo está quase acabando e você tem que voltar para o hotel porque seu grupo ou ônibus ou amigo está partindo, tem uma coisa que você pode fazer: compre as coisas que você amou mesmo mesmo sem experimentá-las e seja no hotel como elas ficam porque se você acabar não gostando, você pode voltar para a loja e pegar seu dinheiro de volta devolvendo aquilo que você comprou. Sim! Eles dão o dinheiro de volta para você, então também funciona quando você acha que pode não encontrar mais aquele item, você pode comprá-lo e se você encontrar outro que gosta mais, você pode devolver o primeiro, contanto que você tenha a nota fiscal, não se esqueça disso!!! Outro exemplo que aconteceu comigo é que eu estava em Chicago uma vez e estava -25ºC e eu estava usando tantas roupas que eu não queria experimentar tudo toda hora que eu ia em uma loja, então eu comprei tudo que queria, experimentei no hotel e aqueles que não gostei, devolvi no dia seguinte!!! ;-)
3- Also try to plan the places you want to go by region, for example, if you're going to Aventura Mall in the North, take the chance to go to the Bal Harbour Shops on that day too, so you don't have to go all the way up again another day.
3- Também procure planejar os lugares que você quer ir por região, por exemplo, se você está indo para o Aventura Mall no norte, aproveite para ir ao Bal Harbour Shops naquele dia também, assim você não tem que subir tudo de novo no dia seguinte.
4- Everywhere accepts Visa Travel Money, the debit card. So it's the safer way to bring your money on a trip for shopping, you don't run the risk of someone stealing your money and if you lose your card, they send you an extra card the next day!!!
4- Todo lugar aceita Visa Travel Money, o cartão de débito. Então é a forma mais segura de trazer seu dinheiro em uma viagem de compras, você não corre o risco de alguém roubar seu dinheiro e se você perder seu cartão, eles enviam um extra para você no dia seguinte!!!
5- You already know the brand and your size for some items and you don't have much time to go shopping??? Buy it online!!! I always do this!!! Sometimes one week before the trip I buy things online in my country and ask to ship them at my hotel, and then I get the package there and have more time to enjoy the other things the city has to offer!!! =)
5- Você já conhece a marca e seu tamanho para alguns itens e não tem muito tempo para fazer compras??? Compre on-line!!! Eu sempre faço isso!!! Às vezes uma semana antes da viagem eu compro as coisas on-line no meu país e peço para entregá-las no meu hotel, e depois eu retiro o pacote lá e tenho mais tempo para curtir as outras coisas que a cidade tem para oferecer!!! =)
